Bolster has released research highlighting the growing number of phishing and digital scams targeting U.S. citizens, identifying 24 distinct nation-state threat actor groups attempting to exploit political tensions in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election.

“We are seeing a sharp rise in phishing attacks, with hackers leveraging AI to carry out more scams than ever before. Phishing scams hosted in the U.S. have nearly doubled compared to 2023, and the trend is accelerating. In May alone, we recorded a daily average of over 45,000 malicious phishing sites,” said Abhilash Garimella, VP of Research at Bolster.
